| Where does the name "The Odd Sparrow" come from?
According to A.T. Pierson , an American Presbyterian pastor in the 1800's, a little boy in Spain reported that his conversion to Christianity was because of the "odd sparrow." He said, "Jesus knew the customs of our town. Two sparrows are sold for one chico, but for two chicos you receive five sparrows. I am like that 'odd' sparrow--small and of little worth. Yet Jesus said that not one of them is forgotten before God."

| Do you know my Jesus? I mean really know Him as an intimate friend. Well if you don't, you are missing out on the most awesome experience of your life and more importantly, it will effect your eternity.
Most of us don't think of ourselves as eternal beings because we have a beginning: we haven't always been in existance. But God was here...always was...and always will be. He made you in His image, created to worship Him. But that all fell apart when we began to sin.
I know, I know...you think you are a good person! You probably are...by the world's standards. But God gave us a law, 10 Commandments that He used to show us how truly sinful we are. Look in the mirror. Understand that you are not the holy creature that God made you to be. And because of that, you will not be able to enter into His holy presence. It is not that He doesn't want you to. It's that His holiness will not allow that to happen. In fact, He wants you to be with Him so much that He came to earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ, in order to make that possible.
Back in the Old Testament, God had not come yet to attone for our sins and bring us to Himself. Instead, He asked that those who wanted to be cleansed of their wrongdoings bring sacrifices to His temple. The sacrifices were to be unblemished lambs. These lambs were killed and their blood spilt, presented to God and given on His altar in order to right that person with a Holy God...a loving God....Who wanted nothing more than a relationship with His precious creation.
When Jesus Christ came to earth, His sacrifice on the cross at Calvary did what each and every sacrificial lamb prior to Him did not. It comepletely attoned once and for all for every sin of every human being. All we have to do is accept that this was done for us and step forward into that relationship with Him. Each one of us can have that intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father provided through our Lord Jesus. All we need to to is ask.
Now you wonder about the resurrection of Jesus. Let me tell you that the most amazing thing is that Jesus' literal resurrecttion from the dead makes it possible for us to overcome death; not in a physical way, but in a spiritual way. Once you come into this relationship with God through Jesus, you will receive eternal life in a place that is free from the effects of sin, a place beyond compare, in the presence of your Creator forever.
If you choose to look in the mirror of the Commandments of God and ignore your sin, your need for His sacrifice, and His desire to have a relationship with you, you leave God with no choice but to allow you to spend your eternity in death...away from Him. He doesn't want you there. He loves you. He needs for you to step out and accept His gift of salvation and life eternal. Otherwise, you will not be able to enter into His holy presence.
I want you to join me in that relationship with my Savior. I want to see you in heaven for eternity. I want to know that you are able to enter into a life with your Creator forever. Please just ask Him. Talk to Him. Let God know that you are ready NOW. Don't wait. It is the most important decision you will ever make.
